Este volumen habla sobre el Milenio del Estado polaco, una celebración nacional de la cristianización de Polonia y el posterior establecimiento de la primera nación polaca. Las celebraciones tuvieron lugar durante los años 1960–1966 por resolución del Sejm en 1958. La inauguración de las celebraciones del jubileo tuvo lugar en la sesión plenaria del Comité Nacional del Frente de Unidad el 16 de febrero de 1960 en Kalisz. Las celebraciones del jubileo fueron acompañadas por el programa educativo Mil escuelas para el 1000 aniversario durante el cual en los años 1959–1972 se construyeron casi mil quinientas escuelas. Se decidió usar el aniversario tanto por la jerarquía de la Iglesia Católica como por el Partido de los Trabajadores Unidos de Polonia para la propaganda en Polonia. La iglesia planeó la celebración del milenio del bautismo de Polonia, mientras que las autoridades estatales conmemoraron estrictamente el jubileo de los comienzos de la nación polaca. |
